Why Democratise Public Health?

Historically, public health narratives have often been "delivered" to communities, rather than "created" with them. Scientific insights, critical as they are, frequently fail to inspire action because they feel distant, inaccessible, or overwhelming. True democratisation means:

Access

Ensuring every individual, regardless of literacy level, geography, or digital access, can find and use health information.

Agency

Enabling people and communities to co-create solutions, rather than being passive recipients of aid.

Empathy

Speaking human-to-human, not institution-to-person.

Equity

Centring marginalised voices and addressing systemic barriers to health information.
