About Us

The Centre for Strategic Communications for Public Health

at Swasti was born out of a simple but urgent truth: data alone doesn’t drive change-communication does.

Globally, nearly 1 in 2 adults (47%) have inadequate health literacy (World Health Organization, 2022). In India, this number rises to 73%, particularly among rural and marginalized communities (Indian Council of Medical Research, 2021).

Much of public health research and knowledge stays locked in reports, systems, and silos. Communities often don’t have access to the information, insight, or intelligence that shapes their health. As a result, myths and misconceptions thrive-while public health personnel, though deeply committed, often lack the tools and behavioural insights to effectively influence change.

Many Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) efforts still rely on traditional, one-directional methods, with little grounding in how real everyday lives shape cognition, biology, and decision-making.

The Centre steps into this gap-translating knowledge into human stories, evidence into action, and science into strategies that meet people where they are. We bring together behavioural science, strategic communication, and community co-creation to build dialogue, not just deliver messages. Here, science meets soul. Strategy meets empathy. And communication fuels impact.

The Brand Story

Swasti’s health communicators, public health practitioners, and behavioral scientists came together with a shared vision - to make public health information truly democratic.

The Centre for Strategic Communications for Public Health was born out of a simple yet urgent realization: data alone doesn’t drive impact — communication does. It was a collective realization that public health messaging needed a radical shift — from one-way dissemination to meaningful, two-way dialogue

This is the second item's accordion body. It is hidden by default, until the collapse plugin adds the appropriate classes that we use to style each element. These classes control the overall appearance, as well as the showing and hiding via CSS transitions. You can modify any of this with custom CSS or overriding our default variables. It's also worth noting that just about any HTML can go within the .accordion-body, though the transition does limit overflow.

What We Do?

We leverage our public health insights and use the science of strategic communication to shift behaviours, take insights to policymakers, and strengthen public health practice through insight, innovation, and deep community connection. We work at the intersection of evidence, human behaviour and storytelling. We see communication as public health infrastructure that can create measurable and lasting change. Here are the things we do most often:

Strategic Communication Planning

In partnership with our community - people navigating systemic vulnerabilities, technical experts and program personnel, we co-design evidence-based communication strategies rooted in behavioural and cognitive science, cultural intelligence and systems thinking. Our strategies ensure messages land with clarity, build trust and drive action.

Our Channel & Experience Intelligence

The Centre for Strategic Communications for Public Health at Swasti Health Catalyst is a thinking, learning, and synergistic intelligence hub. We design communication ecosystems that respond to how people live, decide, and heal in real time.

We shape experiences that the human nervous system can absorb, retain, and act upon. Public health isn’t just cognitive; it’s embodied. So, our communication strategies intentionally reduce cognitive overload, create enabling environments, and leverage emotional and sensory anchors to help information stick and spark change.

Designing for the Body, Not Just the Brain

Our events and campaigns are designed as immersive learning environments -where strategy meets neuroscience. We integrate movement, sensory triggers, story arcs, and participation to help audiences regulate, process, and internalize messages.

This is strategic communication as public health infrastructure- intelligent, multi-sensory, and deeply human.

We don’t just communicate - we connect, co-create, and catalyse. That’s the Centre.
